PC SPECIFICATIONS TABLE Essay An U.S. Army Colonel talked (use another word besides talked or restructure the sentence so that you won’t have to use the â€Å"talked†) about Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment issues at the SHARP (what is sharp?) training meeting. (I think this lede is a bit vague and boring) In the battle against sexual assault and sexual harassment Col Howard Covington continuously work in sending the message that we are failing in this matter. â€Å"Working together is what can provide continuity of care to the victims and make them feel that they are not left behind† said Col Harold Covington, an Executive officer. He also indicated that commanders are responsible to establish a command climate that is safe to Soldiers soldiers shouldn’t be capitalize and civilians alike through training and education. â€Å"Many people had been hurt and many soldiers have not been held responsible for their acts because commanders are failing to implement the â€Å"zero tolerance policy† and allowing climate of harassment to continue in their units† said CPT Jen Taylor, a U.S. Army IG advisor. We all have a responsibility to take action to change our culture to eliminate an â€Å"enemy that lies within our ranks† responded Col Covington . We need to demonstrate through our words and actions the importance in this matter. CW2 this isn’t a recognizable title maybe it should be spelled outMichael Dilts, an HR officer said that to protect the victims and re-ensure they are not re-victimized must be a first priority in every command â€Å"we have the option of geographically separate the victim and the alleged offender† the victim has the preference to request her/his preferences. He added. This is very confusing and shouldn’t be a sentence but maybe added to the previous sentence or add more attributions SFC Angel Keen, a logistician NCOIC said, â€Å"I’d seen cases where the victim doesn’t have this option because commander prioritizes the mission first and not the victim situation.† SFC Terry Brown said â€Å"many sex harassment situations don’t go forward because there is not witness or proof that incident occurred, basically end in her word again his words.† He added, Situations like this are hard to resolve because you don’t want to hurt an innocent or you don’t want a harasser be free (this should be in quotations and why is the situations capitalized?). Col Covington responded, â€Å"Reporting procedures are very important and every individual need to know them. We are failing because many individuals don’t know what to do in a case of sexual harassment or sexual assault.† We need to continuously send the message to everyone that we are not tolerating sexual acts and our policy is in practice. CPT Taylor said, â€Å"How can we help those victims that failed to report sexual incidents because they feel blamed and they think that nobody will believe them.† Cold Covington responded, â€Å"We need to keep sending the message to the victims that we are here for support and to fight against sexual assault and sexual harassment acts.† CW2 Michael Dilts said all soldiers most be treated properly and succeed in an environment that allow them to achieve their best potential. The Army’s SHARP policies apply to everyone regardless of the ranks, age, gender, and are sexual orientation neutral. â€Å"An individual’s sexual orientation is a personal and private matter† he added. Army’s policy on sexual harassment covers Family members and soldiers 24/7. Suggestive comments are unwelcome, unwanted and sexual in nature constitute sexual assault and is a crime. Col Covington said, â€Å"We need to stop the quid pro quo and eliminate the hostile environment in our Army.† If we don’t start working in these two areas, we won’t be able to protect our soldiers. Sexual Harassment is a violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. Complaints are processed IAW AR 690-600 and 29 CFR Part 1614. Physical contact such as  grouping and fondling constitutes sexual assault and is punishable under UCMJ, and other Federal and local civilian laws. (this isn’t a good closing paragraph and I think this should be towards the middle of this article)

Color Symbolism in The Great Gatsby Colors can symbolize many different things. Artists use colors in their paintings when they want you to see what they are trying to express. Like if an artist is trying to express sorrow or death he often uses blacks blues, and grays basically he uses dreary colors. You automatically feel what the artist is trying to express. When the artist uses bright colors you feel warm and you feel happiness. In the novel The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald is like an artist. He uses colors to symbolize the many different intangible ideas in the book. He uses the color yellow to symbolize moral decay decadence and death. Then he uses the color white to symbolize innocence. He also uses the color green to express hope. Fitzgerald's use of the color green the strongest. Although these are not the only colors that Fitzgerald uses for symbolism, they are the ones that he expresses the most. This book is a very colorful book in the sense that it uses colors to cover so many different aspects of peoples lives. Fitzgerald uses the color yellow to symbolize moral decay. On (Page 18) he writes " The lamp-light, bright on his boots and dull on the autumn-leaf yellow of her hair." He is talking about Tom and Jordan Baker, and he is suggesting that tom might be heading for moral decay. In the book there are several things that Tom does that might prove this. First of all Tom is having an affair with Myrtle Wilson. A second thing is that he does not like Gatsby, and several times he tries to prove that he is not who he says he is. Tom even hires a detective to prove this. Gatsby had a Rolls Royce that was yellow "His station wagon scampered like a yellow brisk-bug . . ." (Page 39). Gatsby's car was referred to many times in the book, but it was always referred to as "The yellow car" (Page 157). The color yellow was used most frequently when there was a death. One of the first things that Fitzgerald wrote about when Myrtle died was when they laid her on a table in the garage.

Hnc Social Care Graded Unit †Implementation Stage Essay

Ralph has chosen this song as he loves it. It’s a song he’d love to be able to play on guitar. Ralph has stated he loves to play his guitar. However he gets frustrated when he try’s to play it on his own. He often has his guitar out when he is relaxing in the unit and has stated he wants to write a song about his mum. Ralph actually sung part of a song he had thought up. The lyrics were very warm towards his mum. However this song was very short and maybe if Ralph gets better at the guitar with these lessons he will be able to put a whole song together about his mum. This would be a very positive event as Ralph finds it very difficult to talk about his family at all. I spoke with Ralph and asked him what music he liked so that I could tailor his lessons around his likes instead of boring things he doesn’t know about. We looked out music in the school library but eventually settled on Ralph’s idea of looking up the music on Google. To ensure Ralph le arns the quickest and easiest way possible I found a guitar chords sheet and a Guitar Chord document (below) to help him understand the music better. Arrangements I spoke with my team leader and asked if this would be a good thing to take forward as Ralph has requested it. This was confirmed and she stated that not only would Ralph be learning and achieving but maybe as things develop staff will learn off of Ralph with regards to his opinions on family. My team leader also stated this would be an excellent morale boosting experience as staff will be sitting down with him for long periods, investing their energies and sourcing positive and constructive resources to help support and inspire him. When and Where? I arranged the key time lesson to take place at 6pm. This gives plenty of time for Ralph to complete school, routines, have dinner then attend his lesson. I then went on to google and printed out a guitar chord guide (below) and placed one on Ralph’s bedroom wall at his request. I also used one for our lesson. The application I used has an amazing interface and shows videos of how to play chords. This was just another innovative way of helping Ralph learn instead of always using boring old methods like paper and books. Lesson Plan The lesson plan is to: 1. Introduce the Guitar 2. Talk about chords and music 3. Teach Ralph chords from â€Å"A Team†. 4. Get Ralph to play the chords. 5. Work on his weaknesses, develop his strengths. 6. Decide together on the next piece to learn. LESSON 1 RALPH’S FIRST GUITAR LESSON Goal Learn the A-Team by that man up there. How? Learn the chords with the iPad and Chord sheet. Copy Andrew your teacher. Watch interactive videos to understand how to play chords better on your guitar. Most importantly†¦ Enjoy yourself. Learn. Ask questions. Try your hardest. Practice on your own. Cost  £6.99 for guitar strings. This is a long term investment however. No additional cost at present for in house lessons. Task Centred Practice Application Problem exploration I identified Ralph’s needs and responded to requests to develop his guitar playing. I contacted seniors and asked for advice and worked on completed the plan above. Agreement Ralph and I spoke about having lessons. We agreed I would complete a lesson and work with Ralph to pick a song. I agreed to pick up the resources. Formulation of objective I put together the lesson plan (above) and both Ralph and myself gathered the resources. The plan was intricately detailed. Achieving task I went to work on the 15th August. I received a changeover from staff on all of the service users. We then discussed and confirmed our plans for the evening. I ensured all staff were aware of my plan and had a print out of the details. They supported and congratulated me on this. The lesson went ahead and Ralph struggled to follow my instructions at first. However, he went on to really impress and progress throughout the lesson. Termination The activity finished at 725pm. This was over the planned time of one hour due to Ralph’s desire to continue. It was stopped at this time to allow Ralph to complete his night time routines as his Pen Picture states, at 7.30pm. I praised Ralph throughout for his concentration and enthusiasm after a long school day. After the civil war, up until the early 1900s, the need for a larger workforce grew as industrialization expanded. Samuel Slater brought the industrial revolution from England, and even since then, there were people trying to get better working conditions. Due to the growth in population by immigrants and expansion of industrialization, the working conditions became worse and worse, causing workers to suffer. Many people fought to solve this problem and changed many American’s lives for the better. The working conditions in factories were so bad during this time that it often led to sickness, injuries and death. People who worked in mines had to face many dangerous disadvantages every day. Workers went on strike to earn a fair living wage and in 1902, President Theodore Roosevelt stepped in. His commission saw the truth awarded mine workers a wage increase and a nine-hour day. The department of Labor formed to help fix problems of the American worker. New York banned children from working under the age of sixteen for more than nine hours in a factory. To improve safety, in 1911, New York passed laws requiring fire escapes, fire drills and wired windows in all factories. In the next year, New York also passed a law requiring factory workers to have a â€Å"one-day-of-rest-in-seven†, meaning they needed to have at least one day break each week. After that, New York also made it illegal to hire children to do factory work in tenements or canneries, and made a fifty four- hour workweek the maximum for any working person under eighteen. (Doc 2) Lastly, in 1914, New York passed a Workmen’s Compensation Law to provide payments for workers injured in factories.
